Alcohol
It’s your choice. Make it an informed one.
Even in small amounts, and regardless of your age, gender, ethnicity, or tolerance, consuming alcohol poses risks to your health and overall well-being. To make informed decisions about drinking, it's crucial to understand those risks.
How to lower your risk:
Hobbies & Interests
Avoid people or places that encourage alcohol use. Instead, engage in social activities that promote your well-being.
Alternative Options
Remove alcohol from your home and explore non-alcoholic beverages such as seltzers, juices, and kombuchas to fill the gap at home, as well as at bars and restaurants.
No Thanks
Be comfortable saying “no thanks” to drinking, regardless of the location or who you’re with.
Keep Track
If you do consume alcohol, it is recommended to have no more than one standard drink per hour. Keep track of your drinking on a nightly and weekly basis to understand how your consumption affects your health.
One-For-One
For each alcoholic drink you consume, ensure every other drink is non-alcoholic.
Have A Snack
Always avoid consuming alcohol on an empty stomach, and if you do drink, eat food to slow down the absorption of alcohol into the bloodstream.
